Flyscreens & Insect Screens

Your choice of fly screen may depend on where you live, the local climate, and the types of insects common in your area. When choosing flyscreens for your doors and windows, the main thing to consider is the different types of mesh – the type of material and the size of the weave.

• The quality of mesh is measured by strands per inch. The tighter the mesh weave, the greater your chance of keeping those unwanted bugs out of your home.

• A very tight weave also limits your view. Over the years, we’ve settled on an excellent mesh product which keep your home insect-free while giving you a clear view to the outside.

• The strength and durability of your flyscreen is affected by the material it’s made of. We usually recommend fibreglass or stainless-steel fly screen mesh. Of course, there are pros and cons to each type of fly screen.

• Please note: Though fly screens on doors and windows are a simple and effective solution to keeping the bugs out, they’re not as secure as purpose-built security screen doors and security window grilles.
